I would like to clarify a few points in the above review and to name some companies that have been involved so far in this transaction. For a $26 transaction (which they want to grow to over $600.00 they are getting University of Illinois students; a large consulting company in India that claims 1.5 million customers; a software company in Australia that claims to have 15 million customers; an a company out of California, Atlanta, the netherlands and the pacific countries that sells several hundred software products from various companies.

Anyway my revise story follows:

I purchased an Auslogics Driver Updater today (4/21/15)) and I received a message from Auslogics (through Avangate which is their agent in the US that actually collects the money and keeps track of the licenses) which provided the License Code, but it also stated that I should call 1-84*-287-**** to "Activate the software". When I did that, I was connected to a technician in India (see Correction below) who wanted to get on line access to my computer to "activate" the program. While doing that, he also went into my system and files, and researched all active programs and applications. He then got his supervisor on line who stated that I had 10 problems with my computer, and that they would fix my problems for $30 each.

He also offered that they would provide lifetime warranty on my computer and would fix any new problems that come up. I reluctantly agreed to this (as the referral had come from Auslogics) and because my computer was running fine but a bit sluggishly. I then provided them with my credit card information.

However, before I hit "Submit" on the credit card, this supervisor (which I later found was with "Tech Live Connect" - and they are in India with a possibility of an office in the US, They also have a number of complaints against them with BBB) further informed me that I also did not have anti-virus security (although I have all that covered with several anti-virus and anti-malware protection which is more than I need for my other programs).

Then he (the individual from "Tech Live Connect") went into a long, long, long, un-interruptible sales pitch about what retail stores charge for anti-virus programs, and that his company would provide security for up to 3 computers for another $300.00 for 2 years. He would not let up nor continue with the activation unless I agreed. He became so obnoxious and so insistent that I had to tell him that I absolutely did not want any extra services. Yet he still would not stop and kept up the severe pressure.

Finally, I told him that I did not want ANYTHING at all from his company and that I did not want him to charge me for the activation either.

However he indicated that they were already working on my computer (even though nothing was being done on it since I was still on it), and that the charges were non-cancellable.

He became so obnoxious and so rude, that I had to shut the computer off and hang up on him.

They tried calling again but I have not answered.

I am furious about these HIGH-PRESSURE sales tactics and I definitely will write about them in various consumer oriented web-sites.

Correction: In the first paragraph I stated that the first individual with whom I was connected was in India. I am now not sure that it was India since he used a program through uis.edu which is with the "university of illinois at springfield online". Thus he may have been a student at the University of Illinois. However, the second individual was with a company called "Tech Live Connect" which does appear to be in India but may have an office in the US.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $760.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Auslogics Cons: Secret society status.

Location: Saddle Brook, New Jersey

Auslogics does not appear to care 2 bits about their customers. There are no responses to problems.

No responses to mails. No responses to reviews on media outlets such as "Pissed Consumer". Nothing.

It's not surprising to me after trying to deal with them for over 6 months.

Now I understand the reasons why they have:

- no physical address

- no real contact info

- no information about their ownership, etc.

Do you want to trust your computer and your data to such a company? I certainly do not.

Dear: Team Tech Live Connect (which is what would be expected from a company such as Auslogics which never discloses the names of its owners, management, staff, etc).

In reference to you concerns for "doing 'clean business' as you say", the first step would be to do: clean business. This means: FULL DISCLOSURE.

A company cannot do "clean business" unless we, the customers, know whom we are dealing with. You know who we are as we disclose everything except the name of our first born, but we know nothing, and I mean - nothing, about you.

A secret organization that has the privilege and right to scan all my data in my computer? I don't think so.

It's like asking Putin to look into my bank account!

As for the problems, that I've had with your software, these have been disclosed to you in many, MANY, e-mails and communications. Just look them up under prowalt! I have no secrets!!!!!!!!!!! You have already dug into most of them anyway.

Have fun! Meanwhile, GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS A FAIR BREAK!

Tell the who you are and what you're doing with their data! Auslogics does not appear to be a company that can be trusted!!

Wow Auslogics is funding a scam. I had the same experience.

Driver updater is a farce I checked one by one and there were no updates needed. They wanted to live connect to my computer to and are thief. Now they dilly dallying with PayPal refund. They don't even want to honor their clear 60 day 100% guarantee.

How can Microsoft and PCWorld allow them to put their name on the sales pages as if they endorse them what a scam company. Still no refund and the are defending PayPal dispute Then they write this to me:

Thank you for contacting Live support team.

Please, describe me your problems with more details and I'll do my best

to help you.

Thank you in advance!โ€ฆ
